Harsh but true. What (money? power? etc.) drives us to destroy the very things that sustain us, give us shelter and preserves our roots? Heartbreaking, because we fail to see larger picture until we experience the consequences. Corny, everyday rhetoric I know, but it is simple & true. We did not ‘become’ or evolve with a manual to tell us this planets instructions, warnings and – most importantly a section on how to repair. Perhaps that is the point: love it to death without thought of the future loss. Maybe that is our lesson…and task. To make the inevitable mistakes and at the last moment realizing what we have naively done and rising to the task of making changes, learning lessons and mourning our thoughtless losses. Is the human race inherently bad? I have hope that is not the case that evolving includes realizing…redeeming…and repairing for others to come who we did not consider.
